Man EXO you got some crazy good ideas, so good that I decided to try it! And It works like a beauty. I just wire my positive wire to the 12v on my amp and grounded it anywhere and it works flawlessly!

strip insulation …
strip insulation off the wire,,,,clamp the power wire upwards in a vice,,,, put on the ring terminal,,,, use a torch and heat up JUST THE TIP area of the ring terminal,,, and get yer solder ready,, when the ring terminal has heated up enough as well as the power wire,,, dab the wire with the solder,,, if the solder donesn’t flow ,its not hot enough yet,, if it immediatly melts into the wire,,than just keep the solder flowing into the wire until its fullly tinned ,,, than let cool,,,,, mint,

I have said it …
I have said it before, and I will say it again: You are the “MacGyver” of car audio! Not only are these things cost-effective, they are practical. Anyone could do what you are doing with the things they have available. Hell, you could probably make a low-voltage/amperage circuit breaker from the bi-metallic strip (or coil) from one of those old skool thermostats, duct tape, and a clothes pin!
